This week, the city of Lisbon hosted a meeting that brought together the six cities working with the WBCSD in the development of the Sustainable Mobility Project (SMP2.0). The cities involved in the SMP2.0 are Bangkok, Campinas, Chengdu, Hamburg, Indore and Lisbon.

Cities Collaborate for Sustainable Mobility
As part of its Sustainable Mobility Project (SMP2.0), the WBCSD has developed a set of mobility indicators to help measure the sustainability of a city’s mobility system. The definitions and methodologies used in establishing the indicators were published during a meeting hosted by the city of Lisbon. The meeting brought together the six cities that worked with the WBCSD in the development of the SMP2.0.
Understanding the Sustainability Reporting Landscape – A New Tool for Business WBCSD and the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) are developing a web-based tool and database to help business understand and navigate the complex corporate sustainability reporting landscape. The project is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

On 21 March the WBCSD celebrated International Forest Day by releasing the Spanish version of its Forest Continuum Infographic also available in English, Portuguese and Chinese. Plastic Recycling Solutions for Cleaner Oceans WBCSD’s Water Team was in Bordeaux to support the kick-off of a global scientific expedition to draw up the first global assessment of plastic pollution in oceans. WBCSD is working with the Race for Water Foundation (and others) to explore and scale-up sustainable land based plastic recycling solutions.

BCSD Singapore advances the fight against food loss and waste
Business and government representatives of Singapore were invited by BCSD Singapore to contribute to the finalization of the Food Loss and Waste Protocol by providing feedback and pilot testing the methodology. The Protocol is developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) in conjunction with CGF, FAO , FUSIONS, UNEP, the WBCSD, and WRAP.
CEHDES Conducts Training on Environmental Waste Management
BCSD-Honduras, with support from its technical partner the National Cleaner Production Center of Honduras, carried out a seminar based on BATs (Best Available Techniques) for Waste Treatment. Through the training, member companies acquired detailed information on environmental waste management, from product design to final disposal.
